Allow Your Gift to Make Room for You

Sometimes God will make us revert back to a thing of old to push us into a thing of new.

A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. – Proverbs 18:16 KJV

God gives all of us gifts for us to use and take full advantage of while on this journey called life. These gifts not only benefit us, but they also bring glory to God and help to fulfill his purpose for our lives.

However, troubles of the world and attacks of the enemy can become a distraction for us, keeping us away from embracing the gifts God gave us. We start to worry about keeping a job, maintaining a lifestyle, other people’s opinions, and other earthly troubles. But we have to remember that we are not of this world and that God is going to take care of us!

If God didn’t think we could handle our gift or be successful, He wouldn’t have given it to us in the first place!

As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. – 1 Peter 1:40 KJV

I speak from personal experience. I have done many things in my life professionally and had success (I’m not trying to sound like a braggart, I’m just trying to explain); however, I knew that writing was my gift and what God put me on this Earth to do. Lately, I started to feel like things were starting to slow down for me in my business and I began to panic, but God started to explain to me that the slowing was for a reason – He is giving me an opportunity to work on my writing! For so long I was so busy with the inner workings of my business that I didn’t always have time to cultivate and relish in my gift, but God has put me in a place where He is giving me time to do that. I’m not going to just sit by and not do anything – I’m going to take full advantage of the time God is giving me, because I may never get this chance again.

So I just want to encourage you today to embrace your gift and fully explore it. Things are happening in the world, and Jesus is coming back soon. You don’t want to leave this world without having at least tried to embrace the purpose God has for you.
