This morning….I don’t really want to talk about this, but it needs to be addressed…
We need to talk about this election and the state of our country
No, I’m not going to get on here and tell you who to vote for, which candidate is more Christian, or which one is a terrible candidate for the job. It’s your vote, so it’s your decision. All I ask is that you arm yourself with as much knowledge as possible so you can make the most informed decision you can.
But what I do want to talk about is how angry – spiritually angry – this election has made me. This election has given me some righteous anger…..I’m so serious, you guys.
Why am I angry? Let’s be real: America has been a fairly backslidden country for a while, but you can’t look me in the face and tell me that we haven’t completely and utter turned our backs on God, slapping Him in the face in the process.
This election is a MASSIVE indicator of that.
Just look at what’s happening around you! This is literally the worst Presidential campaign I have EVER seen! So much corruption, slander, lying, and disrespect – it’s insane! I’ve never seen such an election where people are physically fighting and threatening each other over differing views. People hear about one candidate’s stance on something or one scandal and focus on it, not caring to think about anything else. People don’t care anymore about morals and standards – they only care about what can be done for individuals, rather than the country as a whole.
It’s like God put a mirror up to our entire country to show us what America has turned into. What was deep down in our hearts has manifested outwardly in the worst way. But why are we – Christians, that is – surprised? Scripture told us exactly what was going to happen:
“But understand this: In the last days terrible times will come. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, without love of good, traitorous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. Turn away from such as these! They are the kind who worm their way into households and captivate vulnerable women who are weighed down with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth. They are depraved in mind and disqualified from the faith. But they will not advance much further. For just like Jannes and Jambres, their folly will be plain to everyone.” – 2 Timothy 3:1-9
And while all of this mess is going on, God has been giving us signs that the end is rapidly approaching:

….but we’re too busy arguing over this election and fighting with each other over petty stuff and being offended all the time to see what’s happening.
“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness. For what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but they became futile in their thinking and darkened in their foolish hearts. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images of mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them up in the desires of their hearts to impurity for the dishonoring of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator, who is forever worthy of praise! Amen. For this reason God gave them over to dishonorable passions. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. Likewise, the men abandoned natural relations with women and burned with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. Furthermore, since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, He gave them up to a depraved mind, to do what should not be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and hatred. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant, and boastful. They invent new forms of evil; they disobey their parents. They are senseless, faithless, heartless, merciless. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things are worthy of death, they not only continue to do these things, but also approve of those who practice them.” – Romans 1:18-32
And this isn’t even the nonbelievers – Christian people are falling into this trap! Christian leaders who have massive followings and all kinds of klout in the church are falling away. It’s sad.
“For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders that would deceive even the elect, if that were possible.” – Matthew 24:24
My people are literally perishing from a lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6), and I am angry!! I’m hurting and I’m angry.
How did we get this to point? Why did we stop praying? When did we stop loving one another? Why???
Those with an ear to hear, please hear me: We have a lot of work to do as the Body of Christ. We have let things get out of hand and we now have to pay for it. We need to get this thing together, come together the way we need to, and get in the game. There’s a battle going on and we are just sitting in the sidelines, watching. It’s time to put on our armor and get into battle!!
