Weekly Blessings:Week 60: Pruning

Happy Sunday!

I am LOVING my devotionals from Dr. Charles Stanley!
One lesson from the middle of the month talked about allowing God to prune us.
“To get a plentiful crop of spiritual fruit, our heavenly Father must remove anything that distracts or deters us from serving Him. “
Our spiritual fruits can’t be cultivated if we are sitting around with all kinds of nasty and a rotting fruit! Yes it may be hard, but it’s worth it!
“I’m a better, more accurate reflection of Jesus Christ after God cuts away a fleshly habit or worldly attitude.”
And I can speak from experience – sometimes we have to go through the hardest stuff in order to learn stuff.
In my personal life, I had to go through a complete and utter heartbreak in order to learn how far away I truly was from God. If it wouldn’t have been for that, I don’t think I would have the relationship I have with Him now! And it wasn’t until I let those situations go that things started getting better for me!
“…the heavenly Father sometimes lets us feel pain so He can bring forth greater growth and more spiritual fruit in our lives.”
So let God eliminate those toxic people and relationships from your life. You’ll be better for it!
Allow God to prune you!
