What is the Meaning of Easter?

Good morning and Happy Easter!

Today I wanted to show you a video I found on YouTube where Jesse Watters went around and quizzed people about Easter. You’ll be surprised at what people said:

Can you believe it?? I was honestly not surprised.

In this day and time, a lot of people have lost the significance of Easter and don’t really understand the story.

First of all, let’s address what people were getting terribly wrong:

1. Good Friday commemorates the day that Jesus was crucified.
2. Easter commemorates the day Jesus rose.
3. The Bible says Jesus was a regular-looking guy, he wasn’t super special or anything(Isaiah 53:2). Revelation 1:14 says that Jesus had hair like wool. Being that Jesus was Jewish, I do believe that he had darker skin.

And lastly, Easter is NOT about the Easter Bunny, eggs, candy, or any of the other additional stuff you see on TV. Easter is about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ making the ULTIMATE sacrifice for the ENTIRE world, past, present, and future.

Jesus died for the sins of the world, disease, and everything else that is not of God. He gave up his life and temporarily separated himself from God FOR US. That’s not something that we should forget or take for granted.

So take time to meditate on Jesus’ sacrifice and its significance today. Don’t forget to praise God for giving His son for us.
