FOMO No ‘Mo!

Today I want to talk to you guys about an epidemic that is sweeping the nation and impacting young people everywhere – FOMO.
What is FOMO, you ask? It’s The Fear of Missing Out, and it’s serious, I tell you! Serious!
Living in a small town, it’s easy to get FOMO – keeping up with your favorite events gets hard when you’re not in the big city. But I’m here to tell you that it no longer has to be this way – there’s hope for you!
1. Connect with People and Groups – One thing that helped me to stay on top of events was to friend people, follow people, and join groups! There are tons of event promoters online who are looking for people who want to get out and do stuff, as well as whole Facebook groups dedicated to finding the hottest party or latest event! Keep that in mind and you’ll always have the inside scoop!
2. Follow Celebrities – Another way to keep up with action that you’re actually interested in is to follow people you’d like to see. If you’re seeking to see a specific person in concert, follow them so that you will be able to stay up-to-date with all of their appearances. Sometimes they may even be open to talk to fans or could be looking for help with a video, or input on an outfit. You never know – crazier things have happened!
4. Use Event Gadgets/Apps – Have you ever thought to look at Facebook Events? Or use an app like BandsinTown or SongKick – these features and apps will list all of the latest events going on near you! All you have to do is take advantage of them!
5. Eventbrite – Lastly, check out Eventbrite! Eventbrite has a feature where local events can go on and sell tickets to their events and promote! Whether it be local, statewide, national, private, or public, Eventbrite has you covered! Check out the Sell Event Tickets page to learn more!
Well folks, that’s all I have for you today! If you still aren’t sure how to handle your FOMO, there is a whole campaign dedicated to ending this epidemic. There is help for you!
Do/Did you suffer from FOMO? How did you cope and get over it? Sound off in the comments below!
We definitely need to stop fearing and start living. The struggle is real!
I laughed when I read your title because until today, I had not heard of FOMO. I hope that means I don't have a case of missing out. 🙂
