Weekly Blessings:Week 77:Ashamed of Praise

Good morning, brothers and sisters in Christ!

I was reading my devotional book from Dr. Charles Stanley the other day, and one of the devotionals was talking about how we should be unashamed when we praise the Lord and acknowledge His goodness.

“Don’t let fear or embarrassment keep you from praising the Lord. Give God His due.”

This is a true statement, is it not? A lot of times we do tend to shy away from really praising God like we want or should because we fear that people will look at us funny or because some may not think it’s the “cool” thing to do.

Well I don’t know about you, but I want to get into Heaven. And I’m sure praising God like nobody else is all the rage there. Just sayin’.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not the openly emotional type either. If your version of praise is simply sitting down quietly to yourself, then go right ahead. If you like getting up and running around the church, then that’s cool too. As long as it’s a genuine praise, you’re good to go. It’s when you get up trying to put on a show that it becomes a problem.

The devotional also said this:

“The Lord is worthy of praise. He is our Friend, our Rock, and our Protector. What’s more, He saved us from death! If we let ourselves get caught up in other’s opinions, we could forget that His is the only one that matters.”

When I read this portion, this is what I heard:

If God wasn’t ashamed to send His son to the Earth and Jesus wasn’t ashamed of dying on the cross for our sins, then we shouldn’t be afraid to live for and worship Him!

I’m not sure if God is leading me to a part two yet, but if He does I’ll let you know, ha. Until then, I will leave this here.

Have a blessed week, in Jesus’ name!!
