Weekly Blessings: Week 26: Christmas Blessings

Today is our last “Weekly Blessing” before Christmas! Get excited!
I’m sure most of you will be going to church, read  or watch TV specials to hear the story of Jesus’ birth, so I didn’t necessarily want to just tell you the story again.
However, if you’d like to read the story, here is a paraphrased version of the story from About Religion. You can also read the original story in Matthew 1:18-2:12 and  Luke 1:26-2:40
Instead I decided to give you a few videos to explain the significance of Christmas and why it isn’t just about the gifts; it’s about a miraculous event that occurred in the world – our Savior was born!
But first, I just wanted to share with you a wonderful blog post from Bryan Davenport about Joseph. Although Jesus and Mary are the main two emphasized in The Nativity Story, Joseph played a huge role too: “Even Jesus Needed a Joseph.”

This video is simple, yet it has an important message. It tells us the main reason for celebrating Christmas as well, with a more lighthearted twist on it:

This second video is a sermon from Charles Spurgeon that discussed the meaning of the name, Immanuel, which is “God with us;” Very powerful message.

Hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

If you’d like to share something (Bible verse, a song, or a message…anything!) that God has put on your heart or have a question or comment you would like to share, you’re more than welcome!
