Weekly Blessings: Week 14 With Miranda Starks

Welcome to another “Weekly Blessing!” We’re going to wrap up this month’s last Sunday with another guest post!

This week’s post comes from Miranda over at Abundant Heart Blog, where she covers various topics and lessons she’s learned through a Christian perspective. Not only is she an amazing woman of God, I’m also proud to say that she’s my big sis! Miranda can also be found on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. She does great work; go check her out!

I would not like to be a news broadcaster  these days. There seems to be no good news anymore. War, Crime, Murder, etc. the list goes on and on. The main thing that is sticking out to me in this day in time is the increase in violence, sexual assaults, child abuse and just plain stupidity that is spreading like wildfire on social media. We have become our own news broadcasters. I hate seeing women and young girls fighting each other on Facebook. Snippets of pornography, images of sexual acts, people cursing others out and “busting” them out in their status messages on Facebook, Twitter, and even on Instagram. It is really sad to see how the human is being taken out of humanity.
According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, a definition of humanity is :the quality or state of being kind to other people or to animals; the quality or state of being humane. Kindness, gentleness, politeness, quietness…all of these things are lacking in today’s society. We are now a selfish, spoiled, self-centered, and ungrateful generation. It should not be to anyone’s surprise though, if you read the bible that is, because in 2 Timothy 4:3 it says, ” For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears form the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”  My desire is to wake people up out of their slumber and help them to see that we are living in a time of Apostasy. Many people are falling away from the faith. The sad thing is, some don’t even realize it.
You can go to church every Sunday, read your bible everyday, sing in the choir, be an usher, don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t club, and still go to hell. We have to check our hearts. We have to check our relationship with God. Are you in right-standing? Does your offering to him send up a sweet-smelling savor to his nostrils? Are you operating in love? If not, all your “works” do not matter.  Its not your work that will get you into heaven…its your worship. We have to come to the understanding that your lifestyle should be one of worship. Everything you do, everything you say, everywhere you go should be done as unto him. If its not, then check your motive. I beseech you brethren, please let God try the reins of your heart! We don’t truly know our hearts! God does. Let him show you YOU! The true YOU. God chastises those whom he loves. Let him correct you. He wants you to come home to be with him in eternity. He desires that no man perish.
This message is not just for you, its for me too! We all have to look at ourselves. We all have to look in the mirror. It’s time out for the preaching about getting your house or car or money. Those things are good, but what is more important is your soul! Its time for us to get it right, get our relationship with God tight! Its time to be real. Wake up! Time is coming to a close. WILL YOU BE READY? God is sending out a clarion call to his people. The signs are in the Heavens, he has already informed us of what to look for in His word. There is an urgency in the air! Man your positions saints! Its time to get focused on the one who really matters. GOD!
God Bless you, Much Agape,
Miranda

  1. This is such a true post, well written!! Although I believe that we can show our love through our actions as well, ultimatly it is what is inside our heart that counts. Are we doing this for the right reason? We should be asking this each time we do anything. Thanks for this xx
